Other Details to Note

Please note that the road to access this cabin is a one lane road on an incline approach approximately 1000 feet from the main road. There is no turn-around at the end where cabin is located so it is necessary to back in or back down the road. In winter months, snow and ice will require tire chains even for 4 wheel drive vehicles. There are also approximately 30 stairs to climb to the front door from the road. Snow clearing is done after snowfall of 4" or more and only when it is not actively snowing. When possible, snow will be cleared for guest check-in and a path cleared to the front door. A snow shovel is available for guest use during stay.

House Rules

Make yourself at home! We simply ask that you treat our property as you wood your own home. Accidents happen and things go wrong with appliances, furniture, and other items so please don't hesitate to let us know as soon as something breaks or isn't working. We will do our best to remedy the situation and would rather have the chance to do it quickly rather than hearing about it in a review. Firepit, BBQ & Outdoor Fireplaces For San Bernardino National Forest areas, there are increased fire restrictions. See the Current Fire Restrictions and Related Prohibitions for information on any fires, stoves, and BBQ in Forest/Campground areas. Residential and Business Firepit and BBQ Info Open fire pit permits are not permissible at short term rental properties. Gas/Propane, Charcoal, & Wood Pellet Barbeques are permissible on Residential Properties with proper briquette disposal. Leave no trace Simply put, whatever you take into the forest, bring back out – including broken sleds. Don’t litter There are dumpsters located at all trailheads and picnic areas. If a bin is full, find another. Animals will tear bags open and spread trash throughout the forest. Keep the peace If you are going to listen to music while hiking or enjoying the lake, use headphones instead of a Bluetooth speaker. Sound carries differently at higher elevations (thinner air) and in varying topography than it does on flat land at sea level. Sound in the mountains can carry for miles (listen for the coyotes at night). A normal private conversation between two people on a deck may be clearly heard from many houses away. Amplified music can be heard a mile or more away from the stereo speaker.

Hosts will make every effort to notify guests ahead of time about road conditions.

Great place, just like the pictures. We were looking for something a bit more secluded. This being at the end of the road (though there is a trailhead) was perfect. The cabin itself was awesome, with everything you need. Great kitchen and bathroom, comfy bed. Really nice to just sit by the fire and relax. The road to the house is only able to accomodate one car, so driving up it means you have to back out down the road to leave. This was a bit tricky at night, as it's quite dark. Just a heads up! Definitely would go there again, and probably will!

We had a great time, the cabin is perfect, had a beautiful hike right out the back of the property and as usual Robb the host took care of everything we needed and check up on us to make sure all was good during our stay.

This cabin is magical. Located at the top of the hill, it’s incredibly private. I felt right at home as soon as I entered. I especially loved the rocking armchair in the corner—it made for a perfect reading spot! I can’t recommend this place highly enough. Next time I’m in the area, I know where I’m staying!

We had an amazing rest and reset at James and Austin’s cozy, clean, well-stocked Arrowbear cabin. It was spotless, charming, and perfectly located - just a short drive to Lake Arrowhead and Big Bear. Summers in the mountains are a little slower, which we love, and our hosts provided great local tips for things to do and eat. Even in the heat, the cabin stayed cool and comfortable. We grilled dinner every night, sipped coffee on the deck each morning, and enjoyed the trail right behind the house. Can’t wait to come back!
